Tupperware goes bankrupt

Tupperware is an American company that specializes in making air-tight cookware, diffen boxes. This company, which has been flying the flag for 75 years, has been facing a major decline since 2020. In this situation, Tupperware Company, suffering from severe financial crisis, approached the court in Delaware and declared their company bankrupt. Tupperware Company said that this decision has been taken due to lack of interest in buying Tupperware Company’s products from a large number of people despite many people offering to invest. As the company filed for bankruptcy, Tupperware stock on the New York City Stock Exchange did a tap dance. Almost 50% of the value fell in one day. The company is struggling to figure out how to deal with US$700 million in debt. The company laid off 150 employees last June and closed the US plant. The company has been selling plastic cans ever since its founder Earl Tupper invented the airtight can in 1946. It is noteworthy that in 2022 alone there were 3 lakh sales representatives selling Tupperware containers.
